The term Silver Print refers to the light sensitive emulsion
I print all my work on heavy weight fibre based paper,
which coats the printing paper. This utilises silver halides
as the image capturing chemistry.
which although is more difficult to process
has to my mind a greater depth than resin coated paper.
Toning
This is the next stage after printing
Thiacarbamide and Sulphide are easily noticeable
Archival Permanence
As a bi-product of toning the image,
I also use the highest quality acid-free mount board,
and all my prints are toned
using Thiacarbamide, Sulphide or Selenium.
for the yellow to light brown midtones,
whereas Selenium
is harder to spot
but has a profound effect on the darker tones.
archival permanence is ensured for 100 years plus.
which is off white with a very slight ivory tint.
And of course all my glues are solvent free.
