About Premgit

Premgit has been a photographer for the last 28 years, and for the last 18 years
has solely concentrated on making fine black and white prints using traditional darkroom techniques.

He has a deep love for the creative processes involved in producing images of excellence in this medium,
which in turn has led to his work being published in books and magazines worldwide.

Having lived in India and the USA for many years, he now lives in South West England, on the edge of Dartmoor National Park.

A WORD ABOUT MY TRAVELS.
I started travelling back in the 1970's, to places like Afganistan, Kashmir and Nepal.
It was India especially that caught my imagination, and ultimately a life long love affair.
Since moving back to the UK in 1990, I have tried to make one photographic trip every year with my partner,Sandhya.
She makes so much possible, that without her, these trips and the pictures I take would not happen.

The following pictures,courtesy of Sandhya.

Sadhus in Varanasi, India.

Sudha, a young Padaung girl
in Mae Hong Son, Thailand.

In the alleys of Varanasi.

Our most recent trip was in January and February 2007. We spent some time travelling in Burma,
and then went to Orissa in India to visit some little known tribes.
Three galleries are now ready to view, go to the Gallery page and have a look.
